Tabernacle and Temple

The biblical Tabernacle in the Wilderness of Sinai was first mentioned in Exodus. It was a moveable tent of meeting for God and his people. Later King Solomon built the first Temple in Jerusalem, which was completed in 960 BC. This was destroyed by the Babylonians and rebuilt in 536 BC. Later this second Temple was expanded by King Herod, just before the time of Jesus Christ.

Rose Publishing has the only books on the Tabernacle and the Temple that have clear plastic overlays showing the inside. They include full-color diagrams and illustrations of the furnishings, Ark of the Covenant, high priest's garments, sacrifices, and more. The clear plastic overlays are an exclusive feature to Rose Publishing Tabernacle and Temple products.

In the late afternoon sunlight, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is one of the most breathtaking places in the world. This was the site of Solomon's great Temple, a "house of prayer for all people" - the center of worship and celebration.

For centuries it stood, until the Babylonians captured Jerusalem and destroyed the Jewish temple. The devastation was both physical and spiritual: the Temple was an awesome structure, but it was also the place of the Lord's presence with his people, the place of worship.

About seventy years later, the people returned to Jerusalem and built a second temple. It wasn't as spectacular as the original, and those who remembered Solomon's golden pillars, wept over the difference. Yet it was the house of God to the exiles who came home.

Some 300 years later, Herod the Great, one of the greatest builders in the ancient world, renovated and expanded the second Temple and made it famous, rivaling the finest monuments of that time. This is the temple where Jesus was dedicated as a baby, where he honored the widow for giving all she had, and where he threw out the money changers.

The Temple is important, both as a historical and architectural masterpiece, and as a spiritual symbol of God's desire to dwell with his people.

This full-color book gives a complete easy-to-understand overview of the history of the Temple in Jerusalem. People who enjoy Bible study will love the fact that it answers many questions about how the Temple looked during biblical times. Bible scholars and professors will enjoy the well-annotated text. The author is archaeologist and professor Dr. Randall Price. He has spent more than 30 years exploring the Holy Land studying the Temple.

This book has more than 100 images, charts, diagrams, photos, and illustrations, many of which have never published before. It covers the span of time from Abraham to modern day.

Now you can see the inside of the Old Testament Temple that was built by King Solomon in 960 BC. You can see the Ark of the Covenant, the massive gold cherubim, the huge pillars, the king's treasury, and the golden walls in this painting. It was magnificent: 90 ft. long and covered with literally tons of gold, silver, and precious stones that had been collected by King David. It was to be a house of prayer for all people. God's glory filled the Temple.

Artist Hugh Claycombe used the description in the Bible - as well as artwork, art styles, and patterns used during the time of Solomon. He collaborated with archaeologists and others, to reconstruct the appearance of the Temple. In this new chart, a shaft of sunlight, hitting the solid gold Temple floor, reveals its reflective power, filling the magnificent interior with life and color, an awe-inspiring place to pray and worship.

Within minutes, your students will know the key points and will grasp the wonderful Old Testament symbolism. Perfect for teaching on the life of kings David and Solomon. Reproducible worksheets included on the back. Laminated. 19.5" x 26"

Whether you're teaching about Moses or the book of Hebrews, you need this chart. The Tabernacle wall chart is a beautiful teaching aid for children and adults. Many adults study the Tabernacle for the rich Old Testament symbolism that points to Jesus. See the parallels between the Old Testament sacrifices and priests' duties, and Jesus' service as the perfect sacrifice and perfect high priest. It provides an excellent opportunity to share the Gospel by showing how God made a way for people to have fellowship with Him. On the back of the chart there are four reproducible worksheets. 19.5" x 26"

The pamphlet shows beautiful pictures: Old Testament Temple built by King Solomon; Old Testament Temple as it was rebuilt after the Babylonians destroyed it in 586 BC; and New Testament Temple where Jesus worshiped (built by King Herod). This is the beautiful Temple where Jesus amazed the scholars as a child, where he threw out the money changers, where he praised the widow who gave all she had, and where the veil ripped from top to bottom when he died on the cross. See the Temple, the Court of the Gentiles, the Court of the Women, and the Portico. These Temples were places of worship that were built using the donations from kings and commoners. The Temple was built to honor God and to house the Ark of the Covenant. Drawn to Bible measurements, these illustrations show and explain all of the important features: the Ark of the Covenant, the veil, the Holy Place, the Most Holy Place (the Holy of Holies), the bronze pillars, the "Sea," the Bronze Altar, and the cherubim. Includes illustrations and diagrams. Includes measurements, explanations, and a time line. Perfect for adults and children.
